Alt poster by Daniel Norris. Thanks to @sinatxe for the heads up.
People of the UK! We will be invading your shores on DVD/blu on Monday 1/28. The disc features the same extras as the US release, with a commentary track (Emily, Joe & I) a few behind-the-scenes pieces and a ton of deleted scenes. Hope you enjoy!
“Cause we got a Golden Tomaaaaaato!
“We got a golden twin-kle in our eye!”*
Big thanks to the folks at Rotten Tomatoes for making us number two, and for all those beautiful critics with their red round dollops of fruit/veggie-depending-who-you-ask goodness.
*sung to the tune of this, preferably with some appropriate prancing
We’re nominated by the North Carolina Film Critics Association for best Director and Original Screenplay! WOO HOO!
We are EVERYWHERE!
iTunes, Xbox, PSN, Amazon, Blu, DVD, Redbox, take your pick. We are officially out.
If you’re a fiend for extras, the Blu is your best bet. (Has anyone found the easter egg yet?)
The above image, by the way, is my dad proudly posing at our color timing session with his cameo. Happy New Year!
GUILD LOVE!
Can’t think of a higher honor than being put in this kind of company by my fellow writers in the WGA, who just nominated us for best original screenplay. We’re thrilled and grateful!

Artist Tally Nourigat did a beautiful series of comics about her reaction to Looper. Click through for the whole series.

We’re thrilled to have topped the Guardian’s Week In Geek blog’s top 5 of the year! We’re very proud to be in that company.
Our DVD/blu will be out 12/31, but.. oh hey look, Looper is available on iTunes right now!
It includes 5 deleted scenes, Nathan’s making-of docs on the score, Zach’s animated trailer, a BTS piece and a short piece on time travel. The quality looks great. Enjoy!
SFX has posted their top 25 of the year, and we’re pretty honored to be up there on it. Waaay up there. Near the top. ”Near” meaning “at.” WE’RE NUMBER 1!!!!!
The whole list is great, and we’re thrilled to see Ruby Sparks get some love. It’s a smart and wise movie with a terrific lead performance from our very own Paul Dano.
Accolades!
Huge thanks to The Canadian Press, Complex.com, and Drew at Hitfix for including us in their best of the year lists!
We’re also thrilled to have been selected by the Utah Film Critics Assn. as Best Original Screenplay of the year!
I spoke to Kyle Buchanan at Vulture about writing the diner scene, and how it evolved.
(You can download the original screenplay with the uncut diner scene here)
Total Film ranked our China montage as their 3rd favorite movie scene of 2012. Not too shabby!
Jason Reitman has written some incredibly kind and generous things about our movie over at EW. I’m sort of bowled over by this - in all the craziness of awards season it’s easy to forget that all the nominations and statuettes really boil down just to filmmakers encouraging each other. Jason is a filmmaker I respect and admire, and this means quite alot to me.
